Company Communications and Dispatch Systems ("J-Com")

One of the most important systems we have in place!

From the outside, our dispatch center looks like a farmhouse built in 1876, which it is. But on the inside, it is a state-of-the-art professional 911 communications center.

Communication is one of the most important things we count on in our profession. A good communication system is vital to ensure our paramedics are safe in the field and that the patient is given the best care and resources available. Because of the emphasis we place on this aspect of our service, we use a digital high frequency wide area radio system in larger urbanized areas and have built a 400 MHz UHF radio system covering each of the more rural service areas with 100% radio coverage. Most radio systems have a great problem with seamless radio communications, especially when on a portable radios. With this in mind, we have strategically placed repeater towers to connect us to our central dispatch center on portable nearly everywhere we go.

We now use the NEXTEL network as well, which gives us seamless radio coverage on long distance transports. As a backup to this system, each unit is outfitted with a specially tuned cell phone and each crew member is outfitted with a pager.

When you call our emergency phone number or when 911 transfers your call to us, our computer-aided dispatch center is able to enter your address directly into our system and pinpoint your location in seconds. While you are still on the line, we are able to dispatch paramedic units to your location. Our on-board GPS systems ensure that our ambulances arrive at your using the fastest route possible.

When Seconds count.... count on Emergency Medical Transport!
